Dezeen Showroom: furniture brand Eikund has re-released the Krysset chair, a classic piece of Norwegian furniture originally designed by Fredrik A. Kayser in 1955.


The lounge chair is distinguished by its crossing legs and stretched leather backrest.

The Krysset chair comprises a hardwood frame, leather backrest and cushioned seat

"The crossed legs shape the overall structure of the chair, with darker wooden nails in the joints enhancing the crafted beauty," said Eikund. "The backrest is stretched out like a sail by a piece of leather sewn to the frame."

Krysset's hardwood frame is available in a range of finishes, including soaped oak, oiled oak, white oiled oak, oiled walnut and black lacquered oak.


Street artist Martin Whatson collaborated with Eikund to create a limited edition version of the chair


The leather backrest comes in a choice of light natural, brown and black colours, while the cushioned seat can be upholstered in leather or a variety of fabrics.





Eikund released a limited edition version of Krysset in collaboration with street artist Martin Whatson, which featured Whatson's spray paint art on the frame of the chair.
